Hi Embosslit

I'm not sure why it took me so long to get this Embosslit! I've wanted it since I first saw it in the catalog! So, I finally got it! I used the new Smooch Spritz on this card too! You can't really see it in the photo but I sprayed it on the embossed cut-out! It's really "shimmery" in person! I also used a sponge and some Certainly Celery ink to "highlight" the cut-out before spraying on the Smooch Spritz. Here are the items I used to make this card:

Stamp set: NONE! (can you believe I made a card and used NO stamps?)

Cardstock/paper: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Tea Party DSP

Ink: Certainly Celery

Other: Big Shot, Hi Embosslit, Scallop Trim Border punch, Wide Oval punch, sponge, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, Stampin' Dimensionals

Favorite Thoughts

As you might be able to tell....I'm trying to use up some of my retiring cardstock and DSP. I never really liked the DSP I used on this card. For me, it was just too "dark" feeling! The base of the card is made from Sage Shadow which is also a retiring color. Here are the items I used to make this card:

Stamp sets: Favorite Thoughts, Itty Bitty Bits

Ink: Basic Gray, Apricot Appeal, Sage Shadow

Cardstock/paper: Very Vanilla, Sage Shadow, Basic Gray, Apricot Appeal, Nouveau Chic DSP

Other: Pretties Kit, sponge, Mini Vintage Tags

Note: I just used a sponge to "color" the silk flowers from the Pretties Kit so that they were Apricot Appeal instead of white.

2010 Monthly Card Swap - April

Here is the card I made for the Monthly Card Swap that I'm participating in. I can't believe I just now remembered to post this! Anyway, as I said, this is the one I made. I'll post pics of the ones I received from the other participants tomorrow. The "theme" for April was either Father's Day or Wedding. I SO suck at making anniversary cards and wedding cards so I went with Father's Day (obviously). Wonder why I can't seem to ever come up with good anniversary or wedding cards? I guess that's one of those "great cosmic mysteries"! (grin) Anyway, here are the items I used to make this card:

Stamp set: All Holidays

Ink: Tempting Turquoise

Cardstock/paper: Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, Kaleidoscope DSP

Other: Sticky Strip, Big Shot, Top Note die, Tempting Turquoise 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Linen thread, Pewter jumbo eyelet

Square Lattice Embossing Folder

I made this card for my friend Judy. She's not been feeling well lately. She LOVES purple so I figured this would work just fine! Now, just a "hint" about the new Square Lattice Embossing Folder....it REALLY sort of "warps" your paper! It's different than most of the other embossing folders in that sense! The paper almost feels like a Brawny paper towel! I would guess that it really breaks down the fibers of the paper and that's why it feels like that. Anyway, if you want to use it as the "whole" background of your card, cut the paper a bit bigger than the size you need and then trim it down to the size you need. On this card I cut the Rich Razzleberry to 5 1/2 by 8 (in other words, I cut an 8 1/2 X 11 piece of cardstock in half). That made by "base" for my card. What I'll do next time is cut my base and THEN cut a piece a bit bigger than the 5 1/2 X 4 1/4, run it through the embossing folder and then trim it down to 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 and attach that to my card front.

Anyway, here are the items I used to make this card:

Stamp sets: Upsy Daisy, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Cardstock/paper: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP

Ink: Rick Razzleberry

Other: Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Movers & Shapers die with the Modern Label insert, Modern Label punch, sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals
