Last Christmas Card for this Year

First, a VERY Merry Christmas to those of you reading this who celebrate Christmas! For those who don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays!

This is my last Christmas card post for this year. I made this one for the swap I participated in this past year. The image stamped onto the Cherry Cobbler cardstock might be hard to see since it is "tone on tone" but it's the image of the family decorating the Christmas tree from the stamp set Welcome Christmas. Here is a list of the items I used to make this card.

Stamp sets: Welcome Christmas, Grateful Greetings (this was used on the inside of the card)

Cardstock/paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Deck the Halls DSP

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake (the Crumb Cake was sponged around the outer edges of the Very Vanilla card base)

Other: Antique brads, Chantilly Crochet Trim, sponges

All products made by/sold by Stampin' Up!

Embossed Serene Snowflakes

I don't remember what this "technique" is called but it's where you heat emboss on white glossy cardstock and then sp0nge on the colors to make the embossed image "pop". It's really an easy technique and has a really soft, subtle effect. Here is a list of the items I used to make this card.

Stamp sets: Serene Snowflakes, Holiday Happiness

Cardstock: Night of Navy, Glossy White, Whisper White

Ink: Night of Navy, VersaMark, Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze

Other: white embossing powder, heat tool, Whisper White Satin ribbon, Ticket Corner punch, Scallop Circle punch, XL Decorative Label punch, sponges, Stampin' Dimensionals, stick-on gems

EASY scalloped strips

This card was SO easy it's not even funny! All you really need is some scraps from patterned paper. You could even use different colored solid cardstock and stamp background type images on the strips to "decorate" them. I used scraps of my Deck the Halls DSP from some of the other cards I made this year. This card is a CASE from a card I saw (probably online) made by Debra Currier. If I remember right Debra used what looked like Stampin' Dimensionals to attach her strips to give the card some dimension. I didn't do that. I just attached each strip and then sort of curled the scalloped edge a bit so that it didn't lay exactly flat. Here is a list of the items I made to make this card.

Stamp set: Four the Holidays

Cardstock/paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Deck the Halls DSP

Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso

Other: Scallop Edge punch, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon, sponge

All products made by/sold by Stampin' Up!

Delightful Decorations and Ornament punch

This card is a CASE but danged if I can remember exactly where I saw the original at! It was one of two places. It was either at the Stampin' Addicts blog or the person who made the original is also a Stampin' Up! demo and is a member of the demo only Yahoo group and she sent a picture of her card to the group. The watermark on the picture said "Angels in the Attic".

I just wanted to clarify one thing here. I've been on a stick-on gems kick lately! I've had these stick-on gems forever and have just never used them much. For some reason just about every card I've made for Christmas this year just screamed that it needed at least a couple of these little wonders. Stampin' Up! does now sell a limited variety of stick-on gems. But, all of the ones I've used so far are not Stampin' Up! The only reason for that is that I want to use up the ones I have before I buy more! If I remember correctly (and I'm too lazy to get up and get my catalog and look) Stampin' Up! now sells gold, silver and pearl stick-on gems. As soon as I run out of the ones I have I will get some from Stampin' Up! For all I know the ones I've been using look exactly like the Stampin' Up! ones!

Here is a list of the items I used to make my CASEd card.

Stamp sets: Delightful Decorations, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Cardstock/paper: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Jolly Holiday DSP

Ink: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler

Other: Ornament punch, Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, Eyelet Border punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, silver cord, stick-on gems (not Stampin' Up!)

All items made by/sold by Stampin' Up! (except stick-on gems)

Come to Bethlehem

I LOVE this stamp set! I know you can't really see the image in this picture. I stamped the image using Night of Navy on Night of Navy cardstock. Well, what I should have done was use VersaMark and then used clear embossing powder. That would have made the image easier to see! But, just so you know what the image is...it's a silhouette of the three Wise Men on their camels. You can see the Star of Bethlehem and also see a silhouette of the City of Bethlehem in the distance. It's really a nice image! Here is a list of the items I used to make this card.

Stamp sets: Come to Bethlehem, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Cardstock/paper: Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, Deck the Halls DSP

Ink: Night of Navy

Other: Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, Designer Label punch, Very Vanilla Satin ribbon

All products made by/sold by Stampin' Up!

Cherry On Top Blog Award

I got this really cute award from Kathy Bradley back on October 14. I was so worried about getting you pics of my Halloween cards and then Thanksgiving cards that I never got this posted! SHAME ON ME! Anyway, along with the award I am supposed to tell you three "fun (or weird) facts" about myself. So, here goes. First, I LOVE paranormal romance books. You know...the ones about vampires and werewolves and such! I especially LOVE the ones about werewolves or "shape shifters"! Second, I consider my dogs and cats my kids. To some that may not seem weird but to alot of folks it certainly is weird. Course, I could care less what those folks think! Third, I drive my husband absolutely INSANE with my being anal about organizing things! He is SO not an organizer and I MUST have stuff organized! I just don't want to have to dig through a pile of "stuff" to find what I'm looking for! I want to know exactly where it is and be able to get my hands on it when I need it! I organize all my stuff. And, then I sometimes re-organize it time and time again! I just drive him NUTS!

I am also supposed to pass this award on to five other blogs that inspire me. Here are the blogs and their makers that I've chosen.

Gayla O'Dell and Melissa Rodgers of MeGa Stampin' Studio - http://www.megastampinstudio.com/

last Thanksgiving card for this year

OK...let me start by saying that I'm not totally pleased with this card. But, I love the Paisley Prints stamp set and wanted to use it. I also LOVE heat embossing! I can still remember the very first time I did heat embossing and I remember thinking "OH WOW! I LOVE THIS!" I know...simple minds sometimes love simple things! And, I SO have a simple mind sometimes! All I did was stamp the leaf image multiple times on the background. Then, I used different fall colored embossing powders. I sprinkled a little here and then a little there and then instead of tilting the card to let the extra embossing powder run off I flipped the card over really quick so that it fell off instead of sliding down the card. That's the only way I could think to get the leaves to have different colors on each leaf. Here are the different items I used to make this card.

Stamp sets: Paisley Prints, Grateful Greetings

Cardstock/paper: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Autumn Spice DSP

Ink: Soft Suede, VersaMark

Other: various fall colored embossing powders (some Stampin' Up! and some not), heat tool, Stampin' Dimensionals, stick-on gems

All products (except stick-on gems and some embossing powders) made by/sold by Stampin' Up!

another Day of Gratitude Thanksgiving card

Here is another Thanksgiving card I made using the Day of Gratitude stamp set. I love this stamp set. It's so very versatile! No part of the set says "Thanksgiving" other than the stamp with the words on it. So, it can be used just any time of the year! And, I also want to let any of you know that if you have any questions on any of my cards just email me! Or, leave a comment. I don't usually go into the "how" of making my cards because to me it all looks so simple that you can just look at the card and tell how I did what I did. But, if you have any questions about anything just ask! I'll be MORE than happy to share any info with you! Now, here is a list of the items I used to make this card.

Stamp set: Day of Gratitude

Cardstock/paper: More Mustard, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Autumn Spice DSP

Ink: Early Espresso

Other: Small Dots Texturz plate, Big Shot, Cajun Craze Stampin' Write marker, Old Olive Stampin' Write marker, Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Day of Gratitude

Here is yet another of the Thanksgiving cards I made this year to send to family and friends. I LOVE this stamp set (Day of Gratitude) and this DSP (Autumn Spice). The paper is really nice as it is so thick. It's pretty much as thick as regular cardstock! It also has a slight texture to it. And, of course, the patterns on the paper itself is also very nice! I've been on a kick of using alot of the "stick on" gems lately! I have TONS of them and hardly ever use them! I seem to do that sort of thing alot! I see stuff (brads, ribbon, DSP, other embellishments) that I MUST have and then don't use them because I don't want to use them all up! How silly is that? These gems on this card aren't the ones Stampin' Up! is selling now. I've had these for so long that I decided I needed to use them up before I spend more money buying more! After all these are used up I will buy the ones from Stampin' Up! Here are the items I used to make this card.

Stamp sets: Day of Gratitude, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Cardstock/paper: More Mustard, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Autumn Spice DSP

Ink: Old Olive

Wicked Cool Halloween

I SO love Halloween! I don't dress up or anything like that. I don't even "decorate" the house (we live in a business district in a small town so we don't get any kids for Halloween!) but I still LOVE Halloween! Here is one of the 15 or so Halloween cards I made to send out to family and friends. It might be hard to see in the picture but I used some ribbon around the "brim" of the witch's hat...can you see it there? I just used a hole punch and punched right beside the hat on each side and threaded the ribbon though the holes. Then, I just glued the ends down to the back of the paper! I used the same ribbon that I used on the little tag on the card. Here is a list of the items I used to make this card...

Stamp set: Wicked Cool

Cardstock/Paper: Basic Black, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Whisper White, Wicked Fun DSP

Ink: Basic Black

Other: Stampin' Write marker in Cajun Craze and Basic Black, Tag punch, Small Tag punch, 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta ribbon

another from our meeting swap

This is another card designed by someone in my Stampin' Up! group. Unfortunately I don't recall who designed this card! The meeting was back in August. I have a few more from that meeting that I'll be uploading over the next few weeks or so. I can give you some details of the card if you want them. Just email me and I'll send you what details I can! The one thing I am sure of with this card is that all of the products used are from Stampin' Up!

Butterfly Prints

Well, I've been on a mission lately. I have SO many stamp sets that I just HAD to have but yet I've never used them. So, I decided that I really should use them! Butterfly Prints (the stamp set used on this card) is one of those sets! I also wanted to use some of the new colors. I tend to go to my "old" favorites alot of the time instead of trying something new. We've had the new colors for some time now and this is the FIRST time I've used Cajun Craze or Peach Parfait! I guess I just don't take to change as well as I should huh? (grin) Here is the list of items I used to make this card.

Stamp set: Butterfly Prints

Cardstock: Peach Parfait, Cajun Craze, Whisper White

Ink: Peach Parfait, Cajun Craze

Other: Big Shot, Elegent Bouquet embossing folder, sponge, XL Butterfly punch, Chatilly Crochet trim, stick on jewels (the ones I used are not made by Stampin' Up! but Stampin' Up! does sell stick on jewels now - I already had these and will use them up before I buy more from Stampin' Up!)

All products (except jewels) made by Stampin' Up!

Forever Hearts of Rubber swap

This cute little Halloween Post-It note holder was created by Linda Wright. Linda is in the same Stampin' Up! demo group that I am in. We had a swap for our August meeting and this is one of the items that she brought. The first picture shows the front cover (obviously!) and the second shows it opened up.
