Tea Bag Folding Cards

OK...first....a little bit of explanation. There is a group of about 5 or so of us here in the small town I live in that get together once a month. One of the girls is actually my upline. Her name is Gerilynn. Anyway, Gerilynn designs about 5 cards and we all go and make the cards and chat and laugh and carry on! We each pay Gerilynn for her supplies and snacks. Well, for December we each designed a card and brought all the stuff to make the card to Gerilynn's. Gerilynn still provided the snacks but there was no charge. The card on the left was designed by Julie Getz. LOVE it! So, I had to make one of my own using Stampin' Up! products to send to my mother-in-law. The card on the right is my "take" on Julie's card.

So, Julie, just let me say "Thanks ALOT! It's all your fault that I now have a new obsession to add to my list of obsessions! Like I really needed a new one!!!!" (grin)

Seriously, I have spent the last few days looking all over the internet for new folds! So, don't be surprised of you all see lots more cards with tea bag folding on them!

Cards for the Troops #5

This is one more of the cards we sent over to Afghanistan! There will be one more Christmas card (that I'll post tomorrow) and then it will be on to the birthday, etc. cards that we made. And, speaking of sending boxes to APO and FPO addresses....did you know that the post office is offering a discount for that kind of thing? The box I sent was one of the large flat rate boxes that should have been $13.95. I only paid $11.95!! I know it's only $2 off but with the economy as it is every little bit helps! Now, for my "recipe":

Stamp sets: A Holly, Jolly Christmas, Four the Holidays

Cardstock/Paper: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Real Red, Merry Moments Designer Series Paper

Ink: Old Olive, Summer Sun

Other: Top Note die, sponge

Cards for the Troops #4

This is another of the Christmas cards that went in the box to send to Afghanistan! I really like this card! I did not, however, like putting in all those brads! My fingers were raw after making all of the ones of this card that I made! But, it was well worth it for our men and women serving to help keep us free! Here is my "recipe" for this one:

Stamp set: Snow Swirled

Ink: Garden Green

Cardstock/Paper: Very Vanilla, Garden Green, Real Red, Merry Moments Designer Series Paper

Other: Real Red brads

Cards for the Troops #1

As promised, here is the first of the 12 cards we made to send to the troops over in Afghanistan! Since I did not know who all would show up and how experienced they might be in making cards I made them all pretty simple. But, simple is my "style" anyway! I don't usually like alot of "fuss" on the cards I make. "Fuss" can be pretty but it's just not my style! Anyway, we made 12 different cards...6 Christmas and 6 assorted others. I counted just the other day and I ended up with a total of 256 cards! I am now going to go to our local variety store (Walker's) here in Holden and see if I can talk the owner into donating the envelopes! Wish me luck! I do love Walker's. It reminds me of the old Woolworth's stores!

Anyway, here is the "recipe" for this card:

Stamp set: Holy Family

Cardstock/Paper: Shimmery White, Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper

Ink: Soft Suede, Encore! Gold

Other: sponges, Stampin' Dimensionals, Real Red 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Top Note die

All products made by Stampin' Up!

Sidekick Sayings

OK...I know that this stamp set is retired. It was a hostess set some time back. This is the first time I've had the opportunity to "play" with the Christmas stamp out of this set though! The inspiration came from a card I saw on the demo side of the Stampin' Up! website. The original card was made by Stephanie Leider. Since "Sidekick Sayings" is retired here are a few ideas of stamps you could use that are current:

The trees from Patterned Pines would be cute (from the Holiday Mini). You would have to turn the card on it's side for that one.

The Santa and sleigh from Wondering Words (also from the Holiday Mini) would be cute.

You could make it a New Year's card and use the A Brand New Year stamp (also from the Holiday Mini).

The little snowmen from the The More The Merrier set (from the current catalog) would be cute!

Any one of the stamps from Holy Triptych would be wonderful!

See? Just because I use a stamp set that you might not have doesn't mean that you can't copy what I've shown you! Take a look at what you do have and go for it!!!!

Here is what I used to make my card:

Stamp set: Sidekick Sayings

Ink: StazOn Jet Black

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Garden Green, Shimmery White, Real Red, Ski Slope DSP (also retired)

Other: Stampin' Write markers in Garden Green, Real Red, Summer Sun & Chocolate Chip, Mat Pack & Paper Piercing Tool, Double Circle punch, Red Gingham ribbon, glitter glue (for star)

All products (except glitter glue) made by Stampin' Up!

It's Snow Time

Morning All! Yep....another Christmas card for the upcoming craft fair. I am getting really excited about the craft fair. See, I've never done anything like this! I've always just been a "hobby demo". I've never really tried to sell Stampin' Up! other than to myself! And, I have to say, I have been a REALLY good customer! The craft fair will be filled with folks who are crafty and who like crafty things! I am really hoping to get myself at least a few good customers from this craft fair. At the very least folks who come to the craft fair will know that I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and they will know where they can go to get some really good crafting supplies!
This card came from the Stampers Showcase on the demo side of the Stampin' Up! website. The "original" was made by Lisa Freeman. I did change a little bit from her original card. This is another one that I printed off a couple of years ago and just now have gotten around to making! Here's "my" recipe:

Stamp sets: It's Snow Time (retired), Christmas Punch, All Holidays

Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Brocade Blue

Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Summer Sun

Other: Red Gingham ribbon, Stampin' Write markers in Real Red, Brocade Blue & Only Orange

I also used some glitter glue made by another company on this card. I have SUCH a difficult time using "regular" glitter. I wear the stuff for WEEKS after I try to use it. That's because I get the stuff EVERYWHERE! Someone on the Late Night Stampers list told me how to make my own glitter glue though. Use some Crystal Effects, mix in the glitter and then if you want color just mix in a tiny bit of reinker in the color of your choice! I am certainly going to give that a try!
