I'm SO sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything new! I held a "Cards for the Troops" event this past Sunday. I must say, I was very disappointed at the turnout! I thought that with Whiteman Air Force Base so close by that I'd have at least a few folks show up! But, I only had about 7 or so folks show up and those folks were all folks that I knew already! Oh well! I had cut paper for the 12 cards I had designed for us to make. So, I've spent all this week putting the cards together for the paper I had already cut! I'll be sending these cards to a Chaplain over in Afghanistan. They won't have to know that I made most of the cards myself! I'd hate for them to think that the folks here close to Holden didn't care about them!
Now, on to this card! I know the ribbon and the stamp set is retired. I think the satin ribbon or the organza ribbon would look really nice on this. As for a different stamp you could use....the trees from Scenic Season (#115354 - page 35) would be nice. So would the door of the Home for Christmas (#111756 - page 34) if you turned the card the other way to make it tall. The tree from Snow Swirled (#111690 - page 36) would look nice. ANY of the stamps from the Holy Triptych set (#110370 - page 36) would look nice. See? Just because you don't have the stamp set or whatever that I use doesn't mean that you can't copy the card if you like it! Look in the catalog for something that will work! Or, write me and I'll help you find a set that will work!
Now, here is what I used to make this card:
Stamp set: Silent Night
Cardstock: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Brushed Silver
Ink: VersaMark, Night of Navy (for the inside sentiment)
Other: 3/8" white organdy ribbon, Top Note die, corner punch that I can't remember the name of but it's retired, silver embossing powder
All products made by Stampin' Up!
SO pretty! I love that stamp set and it's gorgeous done in silver embossing on that dark background. So sorry about the poor turnout for your card making day. Beyond a bummer. Wish I could have been there. My weekend was hectic (I was exhausted by the end of it) but it was good. Good to be with family.
