Flap Card

This card "type" is called a Flap Card. As you can see in the picture below the top is a "flap" that opens up. Then, the "bottom" folds down and there is the inside of your card. I made this card to send to my friend Judy. Judy runs the dog rescue group that my husband and I volunteer with. She has brought so much love and laughter into my life just by allowing me to be a volunteer and foster mom with 7 Bells Sanctuary! I have had MANY dogs come stay at my home until their "furever" home comes along. I love each and every one of them and miss them all dearly. But, they each have a wonderful home now and once they left I then had room in my home to help save another little life. Anyway, I wanted Judy to know how much I value our friendship and how grateful for the wonderful things she has brought into my life.

Here is the recipe I used to create this card:

Cardstock/Paper: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White, Tea Party Designer Series Paper

Ink: VersaMark, Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, So Saffron

Stamp Set: D is for Dog

Other: Dark Brown embossing powder, Coluzzle with Circle Template, Color Spritzer Tool with So Saffron, Certainly Celery & Almost Amethyst Stampin' Write markers, Velcro dots, heat tool

Criss Cross card

I can't remember now where I got the tut for this card but it's called a "Criss Cross card". It was either from another demo on the Late Night Stampers list or it was from Split Coast Stampers. I changed it up and used different papers and such but the basics of how to make the card is the same. The little die cut butterflies are from the upcoming NEW Occasions Mini catalog that starts in January! It's an Embosslit! I do so love Embosslits! So, here's my "recipe":

Cardstock/Paper: Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, So Saffron, Shades of Spring DSP (also from the upcoming Occasions Mini catalog)

Other: Corner Rounder punch, Sweetest Stem Embosslit, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Pretty In Pink 1/4" grosgrain ribbon

Tea Bag Folding Cards

OK...first....a little bit of explanation. There is a group of about 5 or so of us here in the small town I live in that get together once a month. One of the girls is actually my upline. Her name is Gerilynn. Anyway, Gerilynn designs about 5 cards and we all go and make the cards and chat and laugh and carry on! We each pay Gerilynn for her supplies and snacks. Well, for December we each designed a card and brought all the stuff to make the card to Gerilynn's. Gerilynn still provided the snacks but there was no charge. The card on the left was designed by Julie Getz. LOVE it! So, I had to make one of my own using Stampin' Up! products to send to my mother-in-law. The card on the right is my "take" on Julie's card.

So, Julie, just let me say "Thanks ALOT! It's all your fault that I now have a new obsession to add to my list of obsessions! Like I really needed a new one!!!!" (grin)

Seriously, I have spent the last few days looking all over the internet for new folds! So, don't be surprised of you all see lots more cards with tea bag folding on them!

CUTE boxes

OK...let me start by saying that photography skills are QUITE lacking on this picture! But, if you will go to the website that I am going to give you the link to you will see MUCH better pictures!

I got the instructions for these two CUTE boxes from the blog of my good friend and fellow demonstrator, Diane Noble. Diane is SO creative! I was strolling around her blog the other day and saw these cute little treat boxes along with the directions for them. I knew I just HAD to make a few of my own. In Diane's samples she used Christmas papers and embellishments but I wanted something different so I used Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP on the smaller one. I used the same DSP but used Rich Razzleberry as the "base" on the larger one. The flower on the larger one is made from Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. The little leaves behind the flower were made with Old Olive and the Sweetest Stem Embosslit. I used the new Vintage Labels stamp set for the little tag on the smaller box. That set will be in the new Sale-A-Bration catalog that starts in January. So? Do you know what that means? YES....you can earn that stamp set FREE starting in January! I stamped it with Melon Mambo ink. I also used the Melon Mambo dotted ribbon on the smaller box and the Rich Razzleberry dotted ribbon on the bigger box.

Now....Diane's blog: the tutorial for the smaller box is at http://dianesdesigns-tutorials.blogspot.com/2009/11/mini-treat-boxes.html and the tutorial for the bigger box is at http://dianesdesigns-tutorials.blogspot.com/2009/11/mini-treat-boxes.html - but...don't stop there! You really should have a look around her whole blog! Like I said, she is a very talented and creative lady! Her blog is at http://www.dianesdesigns.blogspot.com/

Grand-Dogs brag book

As many of you know I LOVE my dogs! I just love dogs in general!!! Anyway, my mother-in-law and I talk each Sunday afternoon. She is a VERY creative lady. You give that woman a piece of cloth, a needle and some thread and she can create ANYTHING! She also makes some beautiful handmade baskets! Anyway, because they live so far away she's never meet most of my kids, which are, of course, her granddogs! She always asks about them though. Well, so that she would have a picture to look at to "see" who I was talking about I decided to make her this little "brag book" for her birthday this past November. The book itself is one of our 6X6 albums from Stampin' Up! I used the Simply Scrappin kit called Sunny Day to make all the pages and embellish them! I think it came out really cute! The lettering on the front and the "title" (each dog's name) on the first page of each dog's layout was made using my Big Shot and some of the alphabet dies that Sizzix makes. Anyway, the picture above is obviously the cover. The picture below is one of the MANY pages in the album! This baby is Dinker! He is a "Mama's Boy"! I just love him to bits!

I made each dog a 4 page layout. The first page had their name across the top in the die cut letters. Then, I used to computer to type up a little bit about them. Then, the next three pages had some of favorite pictures of each one. The picture above is page 3 and 4 of Dinker's layout.
